Biography
Mary-ann Astle is the Executive Editor (Digital) of StokeonTrentLive - the fifth fastest-growing site in Reach PLC which boasted almost 15 million page views in August (an increase of 85 per cent, year-on-year).
A graduate of the University of Teesside (BA Hons Journalism), she has been a journalist since she joined The Sentinel newspaper, in Stoke-on-Trent, in 2000.
Born and raised in North Staffordshire, she worked on The Sentinel newspaper’s Newsdesk and was also Head of Events and Special Publications for the business.
In April 2016, Mary-ann was appointed Digital Editor of The Sentinel - overseeing news, sport and features - and masterminding social media activity. In September of that year she was confirmed as Executive Editor (Digital).
In April 2018, The Sentinel rebranded online as StokeonTrentLive, a new go-to news site covering Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
StokeonTrentLive is the undisputed home of live news, sport and entertainment in the city and beyond. 24/7. The site is experiencing tremendous growth with an impressive social media footprint.
