Louise Roug teaches Audience Engagement at the Journalism School at Columbia University. She is the former Global News Editor of Mashable, responsible for U.S. and World coverage. Prior to joining Mashable, she was the Foreign Editor of Newsweek and The Daily Beast from 2010 to 2013. Before that, Louise was a staff writer at The Los Angeles Times for almost a decade, covering the Middle East and the 2008 presidential election, among other things. During the war in Iraq, she lived in Baghdad from late 2004 to early 2007. Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Louise loves Mexican wrestling, Japanese design and music from Mali.
