David Quin is Head of Development Programmes at the Thomson Foundation and has over 12 years’ experience of delivering media development projects globally.
He developed, and was in charge of delivering, the 17-country production training programme under the European Neighbourhood Journalism Network project from 2007 to 2011 for the European Commission. He has worked on long-term, on-site programmes in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, the Former Yugolsav Republic of Macedonia and Ukraine for a range of donors, and has run peer-to-peer media programmes in over 40 countries world wide since 2003.
As a reporter David has lived Buenos Aires, Baku, Skopje and Beirut covering issues ranging from the Argentine IMF default in 2001, to Caspian oil and gas issues to Balkan trans-national crime and the 2006 Israeli-Lebanese war for international print and broadcaster media including the Independent, IWPR, CBC, RTE and the BBC.
He holds a undergraduate degree in History and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, and has guest lectured in journalism at the University of Nottingham and Tetovo.
